West Virginia’s Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program (P-EBT) plan has been approved for the 2020-2021 school year by the USDA. Through this program parents or guardians of eligible school children will receive emergency nutrition benefits loaded onto EBT cards which can be used to purchase food for their children. Morgan County Schools participate in the Communality Eligibility Program where all students receive free meals, this makes all Morgan County students eligible for receiving benefits. Students cannot receive benefits for days they are in-person at school. Only remote or virtual school days can be used when calculating benefits. Benefits will start to be released in March and will be applied retroactively to the beginning of the school year. These benefits will be issued to a special P-EBT card, not the Mountain State EBT card. A hotline and website has been made available by the state to answer any questions the public may have. Please visit morganschools.net and click on the link for more information.
