TITLE I INFORMATION
What Is Title I?
Title 1 is a federally funded program designed to provide extra support in the areas of reading, language arts, and math to help students succeed and be successful in the classroom. Title I provides a Reading Specialist or Contracted Service Person to work with students in their classroom or on an individual basis outside of the classroom to improve their educational opportunities.

- Show math in real life
- Car trips to do mental math about lengths of time – 30 minutes or 3 hours to answer “Are We There Yet?” etc.
- Cook to show measuring - sandwiches in circles – triangles, etc.
- Show a positive attitude toward math
- Make Math Fun To Learn!
Reading Tips
- Read aloud with your child
- Use animated Flash Cards or Computer Drills to learn new words
- Be patient when learning new words
- Use the dictionary to learn the meaning of new words
- Sound out unfamiliar words - re-read showing more feeling
- Write words - grocery lists - thank you notes – cards, etc.
- Do wordplay during car and bus trips (jam goes on toast as well as stuck in traffic) etc.
