We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Wenzel as Interim Assistant Principal at Widmyer Elementary School, effective October 2025.

Ms. Wenzel brings more than four decades of experience in public education. She served for 31 years with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. Throughout her career there, she has supported students and schools in a wide range of roles, including volunteer, paraprofessional, ESY coordinator, Special Education Itinerant Support teacher, and principal.

After relocating to Berkeley Springs in 2016, Ms. Wenzel continued her commitment to education by joining Paw Paw Schools as a Special Education teacher, where she served for five years. In Fall 2021, she was selected to serve as the Morgan County Special Education Academic and Behavioral Coach, providing instructional leadership and targeted support to improve outcomes for students and staff.

We look forward to the positive impact Ms. Wenzel will have on our school community and are excited to welcome her into this new leadership role.
