Congratulations to our PreK students, who will be coming home with their Legendary Attendance Reward today! These students demonstrated faithful school attendance for the second quarter of school and have earned a FREE 7" Baby Mothman Pizza from our local Mythical Pizzeria!

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Wenzel as Interim Assistant Principal at Widmyer Elementary School, effective October 2025.
Ms. Wenzel brings more than four decades of experience in public education. She served for 31 years with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. Throughout her career there, she has supported students and schools in a wide range of roles, including volunteer, paraprofessional, ESY coordinator, Special Education Itinerant Support teacher, and principal.
After relocating to Berkeley Springs in 2016, Ms. Wenzel continued her commitment to education by joining Paw Paw Schools as a Special Education teacher, where she served for five years. In Fall 2021, she was selected to serve as the Morgan County Special Education Academic and Behavioral Coach, providing instructional leadership and targeted support to improve outcomes for students and staff.
Ms. Wenzel is widely recognized for her deep expertise in special education, her collaborative leadership style, and her unwavering belief in students’ potential. Her extensive background, combined with her passion for service and family-centered values, makes her a strong addition to the Widmyer leadership team.
We look forward to the positive impact Ms. Wenzel will have on our school community and are excited to welcome her into this new leadership role.

December's Cooking Club was another delicious event, mixing up fellowship and fun, community members, parents from Widmyer AND Pleasant View, and another great recipe. Hope you will join us to stir up more engagement this month! Forms were sent home for our next class, January 23rd.


Mrs. Sheima and Mrs. Waugh's students worked on sharing, kindness, and positive actions during a collaborative game of Jenga!



Mrs. Roling’s class has been learning about the importance of kindness and community service. As part of this lesson, students worked diligently to create a Christmas decoration for each resident at a local nursing home.

Morgan County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Huber as the new Director of Student Support Services. Ms. Huber, currently serving as Principal of Warm Springs Intermediate School, will begin her new role effective July 1, 2025.
With a strong background in educational leadership and student advocacy, Rebecca Huber brings valuable experience and dedication to her new position. As Principal at Warm Springs Intermediate School, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment while also improving student achievement each year during her tenure.
As Director of Student Support Services, Ms. Huber will oversee programs designed to enhance student well-being, including counseling, social work, and special education. Her leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that every student in Morgan County Schools receives the support necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Morgan County Schools Superintendent David Banks expressed enthusiasm about the appointment: “We are confident that Rebecca’s expertise and passion for student success will greatly benefit our district. Her proven leadership and compassionate approach align perfectly with our mission of Every Child, Every Day.”
Ms. Huber stated, “I am honored to take on this new role and look forward to collaborating with staff, families, and the community to provide the best possible support for our students.”
