Kayley serves as an aide at Widmyer Elementary and has quickly become an invaluable member of our school community. From supporting daily classroom instruction to stepping in wherever help is needed, she demonstrates reliability, dedication, and a deep commitment to student success.
A significant part of Kayley’s role includes working closely with our Special Education students. She approaches every situation with patience, empathy, and professionalism, building positive relationships with students. Her calm and encouraging presence helps students feel safe, respected, and capable each and every day.
Kayley consistently supports students using positive strategies, clear expectations, and steady encouragement. She collaborates seamlessly with teachers and staff, contributing to the strong, supportive culture we value at Widmyer.
Though new to her role, Kayley exemplifies excellence in service, teamwork, and compassion. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact she makes on our students and school community every day.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Wenzel as Interim Assistant Principal at Widmyer Elementary School, effective October 2025.
Ms. Wenzel brings more than four decades of experience in public education. She served for 31 years with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. Throughout her career there, she has supported students and schools in a wide range of roles, including volunteer, paraprofessional, ESY coordinator, Special Education Itinerant Support teacher, and principal.
After relocating to Berkeley Springs in 2016, Ms. Wenzel continued her commitment to education by joining Paw Paw Schools as a Special Education teacher, where she served for five years. In Fall 2021, she was selected to serve as the Morgan County Special Education Academic and Behavioral Coach, providing instructional leadership and targeted support to improve outcomes for students and staff.
Ms. Wenzel is widely recognized for her deep expertise in special education, her collaborative leadership style, and her unwavering belief in students’ potential. Her extensive background, combined with her passion for service and family-centered values, makes her a strong addition to the Widmyer leadership team.
We look forward to the positive impact Ms. Wenzel will have on our school community and are excited to welcome her into this new leadership role.

Mrs. Roling’s class has been learning about the importance of kindness and community service. As part of this lesson, students worked diligently to create a Christmas decoration for each resident at a local nursing home.
