Dear Parents/Guardians:

Per the West Virginia Department of Education:

On March 5, 2018, the West Virginia Legislature passed House Bill (HB) 4402 which requires children in grades K-12 receive developmentally appropriate body safety education at least once per academic school year, with a preference of up to four times per year. In accordance with W. Va. Code §18-2-41, the West Virginia Department of Education partnered with West Virginia school counselors and administrators, elementary, health, and special educators and sexual violence prevention experts to develop an educational resource that empowers West Virginia students to keep their bodies safe (West Virginia Body Safety Education Toolkit, June 2019).

Warm Springs Middle School and Morgan County Partnership will be providing an age appropriate video on body awareness to all students on Wednesday December 15th, 2021. The video will cover topics on the importance of consent, respect, peer pressure, and safety. The video will also be posted on the Warm Springs Middle School webpage for any parents/guardians who would like to view it and continue to conversation with their students.
