No School - Monday, January 18, 2021 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
In an Emergency meeting last night, the Morgan County Board of Education decided that putting all of our students back in our schools five days per week without the ability to social distance in our classrooms would not be the responsible choice at this time. Therefore, beginning on Tuesday, January 19, K-12 students will be on a blended model until at least Feb. 19. This means students will be split into two groups to attend two days per week. Our elementary families will be contacted by teachers today to let you know which days you will attend each week. For middle and high school students, last names A-L will attend on Tuesday and Wednesday for next week and Mondays and Tuesdays after that. Last names M-Z will attend on Thursdays and Fridays each week. If we are red on the DHHR Saturday map, then high schools will not be in session the following week. If we are any other color, high schools will attend. The board also will now be requiring masks for all students, staff, and visitors while on school grounds when social distancing is not possible.
We understand that there will be differing opinions regarding this decision and that is okay. We have always worked to do what we feel is right in regards to our students, staff and community and this decision was made with those same ideas in mind. We need the whole community to pull together to reduce the spread of the virus in our area so that we can get our students back to school full time.

The nurse will then call to set up a video/phone Health Care meeting with the appropriate school team members as soon as possible.
