Earlier this evening, administration at BSHS and local law enforcement received reports of a possible threat at BSHS. Throughout the evening administration and law enforcement have worked diligently to identify the source of the alleged threat. Appropriate steps have been taken to assure the safety of students and staff. We are confident that students may safely attend school tomorrow, Friday, November 5th. We take all alleged threats very seriously and appreciate the assistance of all involved.
Check out this fantastic FREE opportunity for high school girls interested in STEM careers. The WVU chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon, a professional and STEM based professional society, is hosting an academy that will focus on a different STEM fields through industry speakers, laboratory tours, and creative hands-on activities. Participants will also be matched up to current WVU undergraduate students to foster a mentor-mentee relationship throughout and beyond the program. BSHS is happy to announce the 2021-2022 Finals Incentive.
Students may earn the ability to opt out of their final.
The finals incentive will begin starting today, October 27, and will include the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters. The criteria to opt out is:
1. Overall grade of an A or B (year grade that does include 1st quarter average)
2. No referrals for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters.
3. No zeros or missing assignments for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters.
Students meeting the above criteria will be exempt from their final. AP exams and project or performance based finals are not included. Students who are exempt but are planning for post-secondary education are encouraged to still take their finals for the valuable experience. The score will not lower their grade.
Today BSHS/James Rumsey students presented our School Resource Officer Kevin Barney with a handmade gift to show their appreciation for his daily contributions to our schools and our community. Thank you Corporal Barney.

The Homecoming Dance is scheduled for this Saturday, October 16th from 7-10. The dance will be outside in the courtyard and will proceed with light rain. However, if there is heavy rain in the forecast the dance will need to be cancelled. That decision will be made by 4pm on Saturday on our live feed and facebook channels. If the dance is cancelled we will send out information on refund procedures.
