
Morgan County Schools will be operating on a two hour delay for Friday, December 16. We are monitoring power outages, downed trees blocking roadways, and general road conditions and will reevaluate in the morning. Employees follow reporting code D.

Last night was another great Paint Night!! We're so pleased that so many families were able to come out and join us in the fun. Thanks, as always, to The Fearless Painter, the participants and volunteers, and to Sherrie Byrd for organizing this colorful event.





Morgan County Schools will close for in-person learning tomorrow, Thursday, December 15. This will be Non-Traditional Instructional Day #1. Students should follow instructions as given by their teachers. Employees will follow reporting code A.

As you may know, the weather people are predicting winter weather on Thursday morning. Because of this, we are rescheduling our Donuts for Dads event for Friday, December 16. Times will remain the same. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Muffins for Moms was magnificent! Thank you to Dawn Beal for coordinating this; Wow! Thanks to the moms, the aunts and the grandmothers, the volunteers, teachers and staff. Today wasn't possible without you. The laughs, smiles, tears, the delicious food we shared makes the Widmyer family know how much you cared.





We are excited to host our Muffins for Moms this morning! Because of the number of responses, we have split the group in half. You should have received a paper with your designated time (7:00 or 7:30). In general, it is the firat half of the alphabet at 7:00 and the second half at 7:30. Please make every effort to come during your designated time.
Additionally, we are seeing an increase in flu-like illness at school and in the community. We know that you want to participate with your child; however, if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or out of season allergy symptoms, we ask that you do not attend. While you will be missed, we want to do what we can to help ensure the health of our families.

Widmyer hosted Dr. T and his friend Emily today and they were such a delight. The students were engaged, gracious and shared so many laughs. Thank you for adding more fun to our day!

Students created ornaments in Art class this week to decorate the trees in front of the courthouse for the upcoming holiday season.


The Joe Corbi orders have arrived. They are available for pickup today between 3:20-7:00pm. We are not able to keep orders beyond this evening.


Widmyer wants to do something sweet for our service members! Please join us for the rest of November in collecting your uneaten Halloween candy. We are teaming up with the Army and National Guard to gather these treats to distribute to our troops while they're in the Martinsburg area. We will place a large container in the lobby for your convenience. Thank you for helping us with this rewarding event!!


This is a reminder that there is no school for students next week, Monday, November 21 through Friday, November 25 for the Thanksgiving Break.


MENU CHANGE: We are scheduled to have our Thanksgiving meal for students on Wednesday. We are unable to get turkey for the meal. Instead, we will be having breaded chicken breasts on Wednesday.

Today we celebrated Perfect Attendance for the first quarter!! These students worked very hard and have shown up EVERY day for school. They were treated to a snack, a photo booth, a dance party and all received an attendance medal. Many thanks to the students, families, Widmyer staff and volunteers who helped to make this party a success.




This is a reminder that there is no school on Tuesday, November 8th for Election Day and on Friday, November 11th for Veterans Day.

We are so pleased to celebrate our first attendance winners for this school year!! Congratulations to Ms. Taylor, Ms. Toni & Ms. Ashley in Pre-K, Ms. Lindsey & Ms. Hiles in Kindergarten, Ms. Waugh in First Grade and Ms. Pindell in Second Grade!! Attendance is so important to our foundational learning here at Widmyer and these children and teachers worked hard for this recognition!
