Exciting news for WV as well as Morgan County Schools
Families of upcoming first, second, and third grade students will receive a small library of high-quality children’s books during the summer of 2021. Teachers of these grades and many local summer learning programs will also receive the books. Children will receive a shipment of two books in mid-to-late June, with two additional books arriving in mid-to-late July. Educators will receive the same books at their schools prior to school starting for next year. New celebrity read alouds, teacher resources, and family resources based on each book will also be available prior to the first shipment of children’s books. Check this website in June for more information:

We recommend that students read at least 20 minutes per day every day. This keeps their reading skills sharp while increasing their knowledge of the world around them. We may never be able to travel to China or Australia, but we can read about it. We may never see an African elephant or an Orca whale, but we can read about it. We can read about fantasy/fiction or reality/nonfiction. We can read the newspaper or the subtitles in a movie.
Look for ways to keep your child reading every day!
