The annual hallway art show took place today. The hallways of building B were adorned with an array of fabulous artwork from our very own BSHS art students. Ms. Didawick and Mrs. Anderson's classes have done some amazing work this year!!!
While art students toured the hall they went on an art scavenger hunt to find art pieces that displayed some of the art terminology we have learned this year.
The West Virginia Department of Education and the West Virginia Department of Tourism are recruiting heavily for the Governor’s School for Tourism, which will be held from June 20-29 for 9th and 10th graders. Students will be serving as ambassadors for Tourism in our state. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for students! They will be going whitewater rafting, staying at WV State Parks, and visiting all 9 of the travel regions in WV. They will be traveling on charter buses and it’s all free! Students in grade 11 will take the SAT, the state's required assessment for juniors, on Wednesday 4/10 and Thursday 4/11. Students please make sure that you are well rested and double check your scheduled test time with your math and English teachers.

For the month of March, we had 20 staff members with perfect attendance! Three names were randomly selected, and those staff members (in the picture below) were given a token of appreciation! BSHS Dance participated in the Youth Arts Ceremony last week at the Ice House. The dancers performed 2 groups dances and 4 solos. What a wonderful opportunity!
Important School Calendar Change!
In light of the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th, we've decided to reschedule the Faculty Senate early dismissal that was originally scheduled for April 19th to this date to coincide with this historic event.
We believe that witnessing such a rare celestial occurrence can be an educational and memorable experience for our students. Due to the timing of the eclipse and by adjusting the early dismissal date, we aim to provide ample opportunity for everyone to safely observe and appreciate the solar eclipse together.
Please mark your calendars accordingly! The new date for the Faculty Senate early dismissal is April 8th. April 19th will now be a full school day. We appreciate your understanding and support as we strive to create enriching experiences for our school community.

Join Morgan County Schools in congratulating Jordan Unger for his first-place finish at the Regional Social Studies Fair held at Musselman High School on March 16! Jordan will be presenting his World History project, History of Wrestling, at the WV State Social Studies Fair in Charleston, WV on April 10. Good luck Jordan!
Ella Kessel is featured at the Youth Art Month display at the Ice House.
Ella took part in the Governor's School for the Arts this past summer and has several pieces of art on display that she created while there. GSA is a free three week intensive arts camp that 10th graders in West Virginia can apply for.

These two amazing works of art are featured at the Youth Art show at the Ice House this month.
These two collaborative art pieces were made by students in Ms. Didawick's classes and will be on Silent Auction all month while the the art show is up.
All proceeds from the Silent Auction will be used to start a Visual Arts scholarship fund for BSHS students wanting to continue their education in a visual arts field.
The last day to bid is March 31st.
Be sure to stop by the open house on Friday March 22nd at 6 pm to check these pieces out as well as hundreds of other pieces of art by Morgan County art students.
