
Morgan County Schools will close for in-person learning tomorrow, Friday, January 7 due to inclement weather. This will be Non-Traditional Instructional Day #1. Students should follow instructions as given by their teachers. Employees will follow reporting code AD.

We hope everyone has had a safe and fun holiday break! As we prepare to return to school on January 3, we wanted to remind our families of a few important points to help keep all of us safe and healthy. If your child is experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, please keep him/her home until a negative COVID-19 test has been received or a physician has provided an alternate diagnosis. If you know your child has been exposed to someone that was positive for COVID-19, please contact your school nurse and keep the child home until the appropriate quarantine period has passed. You may also contact our COVID Support Specialist with any questions at 304-621-3275. COVID-19 continues to be a challenge for all of us, but if we can all work together, we can keep our schools open and our activities going.

Paw Paw Schools Holiday Program will be on December 21, 2021. The Program Procedures will be as follows. Students will sit with their classes with their masks on-on the locker room side of the bleachers to watch and/or wait for their performance. Classes will return to the bleachers after their performance. Parents will sit on the hallway side of the bleachers with masks on. Grades K-3 will perform from 12-12:45, parents may arrive at 11:45 to be seated and will leave at 12:45. Grades 4-6 will perform from 1-1:45, parents may arrive at 12:50 to be seated and will leave at 1:45. Grades 7-12 will perform from 2-2:45, parents may arrive at 1:50 to be seated and will leave at 2:45.

WVGSA Results Reports for grades 3-8 will be delivered to the students through their school email accounts.
Each student who took the statewide summative assessment in the spring of 2021 will receive a customized video report in their student email during the week of November 15, 2021. The report will contain detailed information about the student’s scores and areas of concern. To access the report, the student will need to use the secure link and enter his or her date of birth on a computer, smartphone, tablet, or other similar electronic device.
The correct birth month, day, and year must be entered in the correct format to view the report. If any single item is wrong, access will be denied. A parent or student having trouble accessing the report will be locked out after three attempts and should email the Spotlight support desk at supportwvde@pearson.com to have the report unlocked.

The WVU chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon, a professional and STEM based professional society, is hosting an academy that will focus on a different STEM fields through industry speakers, laboratory tours, and creative hands-on activities. Participants will also be matched up to current WVU undergraduate students to foster a mentor-mentee relationship throughout and beyond the program. Due to the impending weather on Friday we are moving the school parade and costume day to tomorrow, Thursday October 28th. The parade will begin at 1:00. The elementary students will walk two loops around the front loop. No parents will be allowed in the building. Students will get ready before they come to school. At 2:00 students will pick up their classroom treat bag.

As a reminder, there is a scheduled two-hour early dismissal for students this Friday, October 8. There is also no school for students on Monday, October 11 for a scheduled professional learning day for staff. Thank You

Please join us in honoring the dedicated school service personnel who serve Morgan County Schools on this special day of recognition. We encourage you to take a moment to honor and appreciate the dedication and hard work of all West Virginia School Service Personnel by observing this special proclamation.
