Parents and Guardians, We want to provide you with important information regarding our Modified Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Day. Our goal is to ensure that students continue to receive meaningful instruction while providing families with multiple opportunities to connect with teachers for support. Modified NTI Day Schedule Chromebook Distribution – All Day
Chromebooks will be available for distribution throughout the school day for students who need a device to access their instructional materials starting at 8:00 AM. By 9:45 AM – Schoology Lessons Available
Teachers will have instructional lessons and assignments uploaded to Schoology by 9:45 AM. Students should log in to Schoology to access their coursework for the day. 9:45–11:30 AM – Teacher Availability & Office Hours
Teachers will be available to assist students and families through: Schoology Microsoft Teams Telephone During this time, teachers will also provide individualized instructional support and hold their first round of virtual office hours. 11:30 AM–12:00 PM – Staff Lunch 12:00–2:45 PM – Instructional Support & Teacher Availability
Teachers will continue to be available to students and families through Schoology and telephone. This time will also be used for individualized instruction and other school-related instructional and student-support activities. 2:45–3:30 PM – Virtual Office Hours
Teachers will hold a second round of virtual office hours, providing another opportunity for students and families to connect with teachers, ask questions, and receive assistance with assignments. We Are Here to Help Our staff is committed to remaining accessible and ensuring students have the resources and support they need to be successful. Please encourage your child to check Schoology, complete the assigned lessons, and reach out to their teachers when assistance is needed. Reminder for Schoology checks.

The Warm Springs Middle School MC After 3 program offers students a secure environment to finish assignments and enhance their academic abilities after regular hours. Beyond academics, participants can engage in a variety of enjoyable recreational activities designed to keep them active and entertained. To ensure participants stay energized throughout the afternoon, the organization provides a complimentary meal or snack. Families in need of logistical support can also access limited transportation options to help students get home safely. Ultimately, this initiative delivers a well-rounded after-school experience that supports both the scholastic and personal growth of each child.

Smiles Dentistry is coming to WSMS/WSIS on October 12th? Sign up can be done online at https://www.myschooldentist.com/34782_schsrm or they can call the school nurse for a paper form to be sent home.

MC After 3 is MORE THAN TUTORING! Students will have opportunities to:

Get extra academic support
Explore exciting STEM activities
Participate in fitness activities
Take part in games, projects, and enrichment activities
Build confidence, connections, and new skills

When: Monday through Thursday
Time: 3:30-5:15 PM
Starts: Monday, September 28

If your student would like to participate, an MC After 3 registration form must be completed.

Catch WSMS Wolves fall athletes in action this week

Mrs. Brittany Cockrell's 6th grade science students participated in a creative and engaging activity today called "Play-Doh Personalities," and the results were amazing!

Inspired by an idea from Tiffany Clemins,(MCBOE Tech & Academic Coach) students selected an animal they felt connected to based on its personality or characteristics. They then brought their chosen animal to life using Play-Doh and answered reflection questions explaining why they identified with that animal.

Not only was this a great opportunity for students to express themselves and build classroom community, but it also incorporated important science concepts. Students identified their animals as biotic organisms, discussed adaptations and characteristics that help them survive, explored their habitats, and examined how they interact with both biotic and abiotic factors in their environment.

The creativity, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm displayed by our students were incredible. It was wonderful to see them fully engaged in creating, explaining, and sharing their ideas with their classmates. Activities like this help strengthen relationships, encourage self-expression, and reinforce science learning in meaningful ways.

Mrs. Cockrell shared, "I'm really proud of them already, and I'm excited to see where this group goes this year. They definitely made my teacher heart happy today!"
