Mrs. Ackerman’s and Mrs. Henrich’s club recently created homemade dog treats to support the Humane Society. As part of their lessons on community service and the importance of lending a helping hand, the club donated their treats to the Morgan County Humane Society, hoping to bring comfort to the animals during their stay. A special thank you goes to Samantha, the animal shelter manager, for bringing in Toby for a visit. Be sure to check out the shelter’s website—an anonymous donor has generously offered to cover Toby’s adoption fee if someone gives him a loving home for the holidays!

Coaching opportunity for parents through ParentGuidance.org.
5 months ago, Morgan County Schools
A flyer titled "Coaching for Parents" features the Parent Guidance.org logo at the top left and a holiday-themed background with pine needles and a pinecone. A quote reads: "I need support, but I can’t afford counseling, and mental health resources are so limited around here!" Below is a testimonial: "Parent Guidance curriculum has not only taught me to recognize different needs in my children, but has given me hope that it’s never too late to change the relationship." Listed benefits of parent coaching include: no cost, confidential support, weekly or bi-weekly calls, messaging with your coach, tools and tips to support you, and guided step-by-step resources. There is a QR code labeled "Scan to register for Coaching" and a website link: https://cookcenter.info/coaching. The bottom right shows a circular logo with the letters "MC" against a mountain design.
At the November 12 Board Meeting, the Board approved a plan for how we will handle inclement weather days this school year: The first 5 inclement weather days will be traditional snow days, meaning schools will be closed with no instruction. Starting with the 6th inclement weather day, we will transition to Non-Traditional Instructional/Remote Learning Days to continue learning from home. We hope this plan provides clarity and helps families prepare for the winter months ahead!
