Good evening, In their meeting this week, the Morgan County Board of Education voted to return in-person students to learning 5 days per week beginning on Monday, Feb. 22. Again, all in-person students will attend schools 5 days a week beginning on Monday. The daily schedules will remain the same as they have been all year. Virtual students may remain virtual. Virtual meal packs will be available for pick-up only at the school locations. Meal packs will no longer be delivered. We appreciate your patience as we have worked as a community to lower our infection rates to be able to return to school full-time. Please continue to be diligent in following safety protocols for mask wearing, social distancing and hand washing to help protect all of us and keep our students in school full-time. National School Counseling Week 2021, “School Counselors: All In for All Students,” will be celebrated from February 1-5, 2021, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February.
Morgan County remains orange on today’s DHHR map. Students in grades K-12 will attend school based on their assigned groups. Elementary students should have already been contacted by the student’s teacher to receive their group assignment. Group 1 will attend tomorrow and Wednesday and Group 2 will attend Thursday and Friday. Middle and high school students will attend based on their last names. Last names A-L will attend Tuesday and Wednesday and last names M-Z will attend Thursday and Friday. If there are middle or high school students with siblings in elementary school with different last names, your whole household will attend based on the last name of your youngest student.
