Berkeley Springs High School’s chess team took 1st place at the Area-Wide Scholastic Chess Tournament in Washington, D.C. on April 25. Competing against 12 high schools, the team continued its strong season following their state title and national appearance.
Senior Joseph Guzman-Robles placed 2nd (undefeated), while Malcolm Johns (4th) and Brody Gloyd (5th) helped secure the team win. Dylan Stewart also went undefeated to finish 7th, with strong support from the rest of the team.
Another big win for Berkeley Springs—both on and off the board. ♟️
