Attention parents and guardians:

On Oct. 4th, 2023 our 10th graders will be taking a field trip to the James Rumsey Technical Institute to explore possible programs and opportunities. Only 10th grade students will be attending. Your 10th grade student will bring home a form this week providing more information about this field trip. A copy of this form is attached to this post. If you do not want your student to attend this field trip, please contact Victoria Lyons (school counselor) via phone, email, or Schoology: Victoria Lyons, 304-258-2871 Ext. 131, victoria.lyons@k12.wv.us.

Today some of our students, interested in attending Military Academies, participated in a presentation with Senator Joe Manchin. Students listened intently as Senator Manchin spoke to them about the admissions process and how to get a nomination from a senator or congressmen in order to apply to one of the prestigious academies. Our school was one of at least 30 other schools to participate in this presentation.

NHSDA (National Honor Society of Dance Arts) participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring. We worked in partnership with the MAC Icehouse to clean out the 2nd floor prop room. It was a morning full of dust, sweat, and stairs but rewarding to see the progress.

Hall of Fame Activities Set for this Weekend
The Berkeley Springs Athletic Hall of Fame will recognize new members: Cody Hess, Adam Mason, Lloyd Golden, the 1965 State runner up wrestling team, and the 1980 state semi-finalist boys' basketball team at activities this weekend.
On Friday evening, September 15, those members choosing to attend, will meet at the entrance gate near the baseball field to be introduced to the home football crowd before the start of the football game.
On Saturday evening, the new entrants and their guests will be treated to a banquet, in their honor, at 5 PM. in the cafeteria. At approximately 6:15, those participants, plus any members of the public, who wish to attend, will enter the Connie Perry Auditorium for the induction ceremony.
Berkeley Springs High School would like to thank Lee Dean and the Secretary of State's office for educating our seniors on Jennings Randolph and the history of their right to vote. Also, a big thanks to our county clerk's office for giving them the opportunity to register. Students also got the chance to use a mock voting machine.
