BRCTC is now hiring "Casual Security Officers." See info attached.


BRCTC Basic Electricity Class: Obtain fundamental knowledge of electricity and electrical applications. The course covers safety, fundamental concepts, batteries, c circuits, s-d circuits, wiring techniques, alternating current motors, direct current motors, and capacity of conductors. This course is a prerequisite for the Basic Electrical wiring course.


Drop by the BRCTC Pines anytime between 5pm and 7pm for information and a tour. Tours typically last 30 minutes but attendees are welcome to stay as long as needed. The Job Scholars initiative at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College offers students ages 17-24 years of age the opportunity to participate in job training and college certificates while benefiting from free tuition, special initiatives, and services to make attending training easy. Students have short weekly cohort meetings to receive supplies, assistance, and counseling.

We are now accepting nominations for the Making a Difference award for the 2nd quarter. This is for any staff member that goes above and beyond their regular duties truly making a difference at BSHS. Please email nominations to Mitch Nida at mnida@k12.wv.us by next Wednesday, January 11th.

While learning about the Skeletal System, health classes built life-size skeletons to help learn the proper names, shapes, and locations of the bones in the human skeletal. As well as learning about the different joints and how they make movement possible.

As a reminder, there is a scheduled 2hr Early Dismissal on Thursday, December 22 for Faculty Senate. There is NO school Friday, December 23 through Monday, January 2 for Winter Break. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 3.


The BSHS choir and band concert scheduled for this evening will be postponed until January. Date and time TBA.
