📊 Chronic Absenteeism Update — 1st 9 Weeks
Morgan County Schools’ goal for the 2025–2026 school year is to have less than 15% of our students chronically absent.
A student is considered chronically absent if they miss more than 10% of the school year.

Here’s where we stand at the end of the first 9 weeks:
BSHS: 15.61%
PPES: 23.61%
PPHS: 16.67%
PVES: 16.55%
WSIS: 15.91%
WSMS: 15.74%
WES: 22.59%
MCS District Average: 17.11%

We’re close to our goal at several schools and moving in the right direction! With everyone’s help — families, staff, and community — we can make sure students are in school and ready to learn every day.

National School Bus Safety Week is October 20–24!
This year’s theme is “Safety at Every Stop!”

Stay alert and slow down in school zones and neighborhoods.
Stop for the bus and obey the stop-arm law every time—no exceptions.

Let’s work together to keep our students safe on their journey to and from school.

Several members of our technology team attended the event, where Morgan County Schools was proudly represented by two staff members who presented on instructional technology integration and the innovative software systems utilized throughout our district.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our resources with other districts and showcase how technology supports both staff and students in achieving success.
