The girls score 39. The boys scored 44 with Casey Twigg in 4th, 14:40, 6th Josh Morgan 15:00, Joshua Lucas 15;03, 8th Eli Sealy 15:05 and 23rd Alex Cain 22:51.

We want to let you all know that the Scholastic Book Fair will be open tomorrow afternoon September 13th from 3:00 til 4:30 PM. We would love for you all to come in and browse this year's selections for yourself, your little ones, and your classrooms.
Statement from Morgan County Schools and Local Law Enforcement:
We consider the safety of our students and staff as our top priority. Along with all other State Superintendents, a conference call was completed late this morning with members of the West Virginia Department of Education and Homeland Security. During that meeting, a social media post with a list of high schools was shared with Superintendents. Neither Berkeley Springs High School or Paw Paw High School was listed on that social media post with 40+ high schools throughout the state of West Virginia. There have been NO specific threats received or reported to local law enforcement or Morgan County Schools.
We will continue to monitor this situation and will continue to communicate with local law enforcement. If you see something on social media (including snapchat) do not re-share it, call 911. Again, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
Mrs. Kesecker's 7th grade math classes did multiplication wars today.
Mr. Prinkey and Mrs. Kesecker's 7th grade math classes collaborated yesterday on a group project in the media center. Students were working hard and having fun.
Updated Statement from Morgan County Schools and Local Law Enforcement:
Upon further investigation, law enforcement has concluded that the Morgan County student’s threat on social media (on 9/10/2024) has been deemed not credible. Our investigation concluded that the student had taken a screenshot of a threat posted by a student in a neighboring state. Unfortunately, there have been a series of social media threats throughout the region and country the past 2-3 days. Social media threats occur frequently and law enforcement is actively investigating each and every threat reported and providing us with ongoing updates. We take the safety of our students and staff as our top priority. There is no reason to believe that any school in our area is in danger and students should feel safe attending school tomorrow.

Last week the WSMS Wolves Cross Country team took a few minutes to swing before completing at the Stonewall Jackson Invitational at Stonewall Jackson Resort State Park. Coming in, in the top 10 in 9th place Brooke Miller 13:45. 29 Ellie Rosensteel 15:27, 32 Shana Stotler 15:42, 38 McKenna Saville 16:03, 53 Piper Bergen 18:16, 56 Candance Sealy 18:25, 67 Ava Cain 19:28 and 77 Sofie Risinger 22:09. Dear Parents/Guardians:
Jamie’s Law (House Bill 2535) requires school administrators to provide opportunities to discuss suicide prevention information annually. This year school staff are working to teach students about mental health and how to seek help if they are worried about themselves or a friend. We are using a program called SOS Signs of Suicide.
Through the program, students learn:
· That depression is treatable, so they are encouraged to seek help
· How to identify depression and potential suicide risk in themselves or a friend
· To ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell a trusted adult) if concerned about themselves or a friend
· Who they can turn to at school for help
Members of the Morgan County Schools Mental Health Team will be providing the Suicide Prevention Presentation to Warm Springs Middle School students on Monday September 9th, 2024. Students will watch age-appropriate video clips and participate in a guided discussion about depression, suicide, and what to do if they are concerned about a friend. Following the videos, students will complete an exit slip which asks whether they would like to talk to an adult about any concerns. Members of the Morgan County Schools Mental Health Team will be available to assist any students in need following the presentation.
We encourage you to visit www.mindwise.org/parents and https://parentguidance.org/ for useful resources, warning signs for suicide, guided lessons, some of the key messages students will learn (mindwise), and free parent coaching through the county (parent guidance only). With open dialogue and communication with your teen regarding suicide and mental health, you can let them know that it is OK to talk with you or a trusted adult and there is hope and help available.

Warm Springs Middle School Fall Scholastic Book Fair September 9-13 in the WSMS Media Center. Students will have the opportunity to purchase items all week long. Book Fair will also be open to the public each day after school on Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 PM.
